The 11th African Junior Championships / 11ème Championnats d'Afrique Juniors will be held in Pretoria (South Africa) from June/ Juin 27-30, 2013 after Rwanda withdraw from the organization.

The Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) confirmed that both Rwanda and Gabon failed to convince CAA as the best alternative hosts, which informed the decision to pick on Pretoria.

A total of 24 teams have already confirmed participation in the championship after the initial expiry date for confirmation elapsed on December 31, but the CAA is optimistic that more countries will send in their preliminary entries by the deadline of February 28, 2013.
